Association for motopedagogic and psychomotorik

 

Our Association Društvo za gibalno vzgojo in psihomotoriko was established and registreted in 1994 and it was renamed in Društvo za motopedagogiko in psihomotoriko in1997. It is a professional and humanitarian Association

The Association was established out of a need to continue work started in 1970. The main goal of our Association is movement education and psychomotor development for children with special needs.

Therefore the Association provides the professional program of treatment by means of motopedagogy and psychomotorics for children and youth with development needs.

The members of the Association treat children and youth with special needs. In this case several preliminary experiments were elaborated at the level of motodiagnostic and practice treatment in the field of movement work, which were published and presented in the symposiums and congresses in Slovenia and abroad.

The members of the Association have carried out numerous practical and theoretical lectures for preschool educators and teachers, special pedagogues, head masters and parents.

They organized the 1st professional symposium: “ Psychomotorics and movement education in Slovenia” 1997 (participation of . E. Kiphard PhD).

The authors of this program, by which they stressed the importance movement activities on child’s personal development participated in the European congress of psychomotorics in Marburg in 1996 and World congress of psychomotorik in Strassburg 2000.

We had published some publications, the contents of which refers on psychomotor treatment for children with movement problems. In 2001 the manual “ Child’s movement behavior” by Bozidara Kremzar and Matevz Petelin was published. The intention of this manual was that the professional publics get an insight about the importance of early treatment on child’s personal development, the initiative of the motopedagogy and psychomotor treatment in Slovenia.

The preventive programs we work on are: Street program, camping for youth with behavior problems. We cooperate with the School for deaf children and with Speech Problems, Advice center Ljubljana, Departments for mentally retarded children at various Polyclinic, Center for blind and weak-sighted., motopedagogy service preschool project.
